"Morphological Research of the Visual System of Sepia officinalis"

I investigate the morphological structure of the optical system of Sepia officinalis.

The animals were collected from the Mediterranean Sea.

To describe the connection between retina and lobus opticus, the fluorescent  crystal (DiI, DiO, DiA) is deposited on the photoreceptor .

During the treatment the lipophil colors run along the optic nerves until they reach the optical lobus.

Different imaging methods show the position of the nerves between retina and lobus.

Furthermore the first connective layer of the optic nerve and the plexiform layer of the lobus opticus should be shown with TEM-methods.
